Afterglow Festival is proud to present PHOEBE LEGERE in JUDY, MARLENE, EDITH, BARBRA, and CHUCK. Queer performance artist and painter Phoebe Legere celebrates Gay Romance in a hilarious and heartfelt new autobiographical show that includes impersonation, cross-dressing, hyper-glamor, wet paint, and poetry. Assisted by a bevy of semi-nude and magnificently endowed male slaves, Goddess Legere, now known as International Chuck, teaches mortals the true meaning of the word Fabulous. She will sing songs from her new top 20 album Heart of Love; covers from the greatest divas the world has ever known; plus Legere’s international hits Lesbian National Anthem Marilyn Monroe and Two French Bulldogs and Wrong Honky Tonk. Come discover why NPR says: “She is an American original her beautiful voice will take your breath away.”

“A charismatic showman who works the audience with the razor-edged skill of a veteran comic poking, teasing, and caressing it with clever turns of phrase both musical and verbal.” The New York Times

“She doesn’t so much sing a song as inhabit it…with a pure, remarkable four and a half-octave range” New York Daily News

“An evocative blend of sexpot glamor, French insouciance, Bourbon St. bawdiness, and East Village hipness she’s got both body and soul.” Harpers Bazaar.
